April and Neil were married at Old Sturbridge Village, in what can only be called a Winter Wonderland Wedding!
Most brides and grooms want sun, warmth, color (flowers or foliage) and an absence of moisture! April and Neil were the exception, and I must say, their wedding was Exceptional, for many reasons.
I loved April’s enthusiasm when we talked about her wedding day “wishes”. She really wanted snow to go along with the boots and mittens she bought her bridesmaids. In December, the grounds at Old Sturbridge Village were pretty brown and absent of any snow. It looked like we were going to have a pretty dry, non-eventful winter. All of that changed as we approached their wedding day, and April’s vision for her wedding day came to fruition. It was the perfect storm, so to speak. Consistently, Massachusetts had more and more snow. It was starting to look like we may be facing too much snow. Their wedding day couldn’t have been planned better, Mother Nature was on their side. The snow was clean and “new”. To top it off, there were snow flurries off and on all day long. As a photographer, I loved this, even more so because I knew it was exactly what April and Neil dreamed of for their day!
The second factor that made April and Neil’s wedding exceptional was their wedding party. You can see and feel the bond of their friendships. True friends stick with you through think, thin, and freezing temperatures to get the wedding pictures that you want! This crew rocked the wedding and were nothing but supportive, enthusiastic and “warm”, even when they were freezing!
A third factor, they were all big Patriots Fans and week prior THE PATS WON THE SUPER BOWL. Ahh, I had to include this fact. April and Neil are big PATS fans and they incorporated their Patriots fever into their wedding when they were introduced. Another fun addition, their shared love for WWE (wrestling).
Old Sturbridge Village is magical any day of the year, and a pretty amazing venue! The snow covered grounds, and ambiance that Old Sturbridge Village embodies, priceless.
