Christine and Jeff were married last weekend at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA.
The day began with Christine getting ready in the bridal suite at The Oliver Wight Tavern, located within Sturbridge Village. Jeff and Christine had their “first glance” in the Herb Garden. The Herb Garden contains plants commonly found in 19th-century New England Household gardens.
The ceremony followed in the Center Meeting House, a Meetinghouse originally built in Sturbridge in 1832. Guest were guided to the Meetinghouse by candlelit lanterns. The bride arrived via a horse-drawn carryall.
The ceremony was performed by Ken Fisher. It was one of the most thoughtful ceremonies I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph. One of readings was an excerpt from the Velveteen Rabbit. This was the first time I heard the Velveteen Rabbit used in a ceremony, and it was so touching. I was truly impressed.
The reception followed in the Oliver Wight Tavern with great food, funny toasts and dancing.
Before the end of the night, I took Christine and Jeff outside for some images that have an “old Hollywood feel”.
